With many thanks to the wooden runabout company for sharing their woderful images of “dixie”, an original special race boat by chris craft restored to perfection.. plans are complete and lofted to full size, frames, stringers, transom assembly, hatches etc…includes a detailed set up plan showing heights from baseline and spacings.. Banshee is a custom designed 14 foot runabout with a beam of just under 6 feet. the prerequisites were simple enough: a 14 foot runabout that seats 4 with a 1950’s look.. Of all the half-dozen or so sizes built by chris craft, the 19' custom runabout model produced between 1939 and 1942 seems to generate the most interest today. yet with purportedly less than 400 ever produced, any remaining boats given care and restoration trade hands for tens-of-thousands of dollars if at all..
The plans are also 1" to 1' and they include full to scale prints, construction directions, plus instructions for motorizing the boat if so desired. this high quality, highly detailed, chris craft runabout speed boat model is brand new, fully assembled and ready for display (not a kit). the chris craft runabout model is handcrafted from. Just needs a few finishing touches (like decking, interior, chrome plating of hardware, instruments restored, transom wood, installing engine and drive train, and a few other minor things) and you have yourself a fine chris-craft 17′ deluxe runabout, almost the same as a 1942 model (only newer).. One of the most desirable, collectable, and attractive models ever produced by chris-craft. this boat was recently purchased in oklahoma from don ayers (chris-craft historian) by a local gentleman and brought to our shop for a complete makeover..
